KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Cebu Pacific has been recognized as a leader in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, securing two prestigious awards at the 2025 ESG Business Awards here.

The airline was honored for “Sustainable Transportation” and “Diversity & Inclusion,” solidifying its position among Asia’s top companies committed to responsible business practices.

The ESG Business Awards acknowledge organizations that demonstrate exceptional performance in corporate social responsibility, diversity and inclusion, as well as sustainable growth.

Cebu Pacific’s double win underscores its commitment to integrating ESG principles into its core operations.

“As Cebu Pacific grows, we want affordable travel to also create a positive impact for people and communities,” said Candice Iyog, CEB chief marketing and customer experience officer.

“Inclusivity and sustainability remain central to how we shape the future of travel.”

Leading the Way in Workplace Inclusivity

Cebu Pacific has consistently championed workplace inclusivity, setting a high standard within the aviation industry.

The airline achieved Great Place to Work® certification in 2024, a first for a Southeast Asian airline, and has been a pioneer in hiring openly transgender cabin crew.

It has also surpassed global benchmarks for women in leadership roles, provided internship programs for neurodiverse students, and extended comprehensive health and travel benefits to same-sex and common-law partners.

“Our workforce — spanning 31 nationalities, 15 employee groups, and people of all genders, faiths, and abilities — enables Cebu Pacific to adapt, grow, and deliver for our customers,” said Felix Lopez, CEB chief human resources officer.

“This recognition belongs to our teammates who support and uplift one another. At Cebu Pacific, we don’t just move people — we move progress,” Lopez said.

Flying Toward a Sustainable Future

Beyond its commitment to inclusivity, Cebu Pacific is actively reducing its environmental footprint through fleet modernization and fuel-efficient practices.

The airline ranked 18th globally in the Cirium Flight Emissions Review 2024, boasting one of the industry’s lowest carbon intensities at 62.4 grams of carbon dioxide (CO2) per available seat kilometer.

With one of the youngest fleets in Asia, CEB saved nearly 50 million kilograms of fuel and avoided over 150,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in the past year.

Cebu Pacific also stands out as the only low-cost carrier in Southeast Asia to secure a sustainability-linked loan, directly linking its financing terms to its emission-reduction targets.

“Sustainability is integral to Cebu Pacific’s growth strategy,” declared Aileen Isidro, vice president for CEB Corporate Strategy and Risk Officer.

“By aligning affordable travel with responsible operations, we ensure that our expansion is both competitive and future-ready,” Isidro said.

Connecting the Philippines and Beyond Responsibly

With a vast network spanning 36 domestic and 27 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific continues to strengthen its role as a champion of inclusive and sustainable travel while remaining dedicated to its core mission of providing affordable and accessible flights for every Filipino.

The airline’s recent accolades at the ESG Business Awards underscore its commitment to building a more responsible and equitable future for the aviation industry and the communities it serves.
