MANILA – Philippine Airlines (PAL) has partnered with Southwest Airlines to offer seamless, single-ticket journeys connecting travelers across their extensive networks.

This new interline agreement provides enhanced access between Southwest’s vast network of U.S. airports and PAL’s destinations throughout the Philippines, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

The partnership leverages shared gateway airports in Los Angeles, Seattle/Tacoma, San Francisco, and Honolulu, Oahu.

Honolulu, in particular, serves as a crucial hub, with Southwest operating approximately four dozen interisland flights daily.

“Our interline partnership with Southwest Airlines enables seamless connections and single-ticket journeys across both of our networks,” stated PAL Vice President – Revenue Management Christoph Gaertner.

“As we continue to expand PAL’s global reach, this collaboration provides more travel options and greater flexibility, giving our guests access to a wider range of destinations in the United States.”

The agreement is mutually beneficial.

“Each airline partnership brings unique and incremental reach to places around the globe for both carriers and gives more consumers an opportunity to begin or end their journey with Southwest,” explained Andrew Watterson of Southwest Airlines.

He emphasized Southwest’s strategic position in serving PAL passengers: “With nearly 90 flights daily that touch the Hawaiian Islands and as California’s largest air carrier, Southwest is positioned like no other airline in serving Philippine Airlines’ passengers arriving or departing the United States.”

The collaboration reinforces PAL’s commitment to broadening regional accessibility and catering to the increasing demand for convenient travel options between the Philippines and the United States.

The new interline itineraries are currently available through PAL and various third-party travel booking sites.
