MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ premier carrier, has achieved a significant milestone by being recognized as one of the world’s most sustainable airlines in the latest S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This prestigious recognition underscores CEB’s commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and robust governance.

Cebu Pacific proudly secured a position within the top 25% globally and emerged as the most sustainable Philippine carrier, demonstrating a commendable score of 47. This achievement significantly surpasses the industry average of 37 and outshines the performance of most low-cost peers.

The S&P Global CSA rigorously evaluates how companies manage their environmental impact, foster employee well-being and community engagement, and uphold exemplary business ethics.

“Our continuous expansion is underpinned by a disciplined and proactive approach to sustainability,” stated Aileen Isidro, CEB Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Risk Officer. “This remarkable improvement in our S&P Global CSA score is a testament to how deeply sustainability is embedded in every facet of our growth, operations, and governance.”

Driving Progress Across ESG Pillars

CEB’s latest Integrated Report details significant advancements across its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, directly contributing to its enhanced CSA performance.

Environmental Leadership Through Operational Excellence

In 2025, Cebu Pacific successfully served nearly 27 million passengers and executed over 170,000 flights, proving that substantial sustainability gains are achievable even amidst operational expansion.

During this period, the airline averted approximately 35,000 tonnes of carbon emissions and conserved an impressive 11,000 tonnes of jet fuel through strategic fleet modernization and heightened operational efficiencies.

Furthermore, CEB reduced its carbon emissions to 75.7 grams of CO per revenue passenger kilometer (RPK), showcasing a notable decrease in emissions per passenger despite escalating travel demand. The carrier is steadfast in its long-term ambition to transition to an all-NEO (New Engine Option) fleet by 2030, complemented by the expanded deployment of electric ground support equipment (GSE) across its key airport hubs.

Empowering People and Fostering Inclusive Growth

Beyond its environmental endeavors, Cebu Pacific prioritizes substantial investments in its workforce. Women now constitute 51% of management roles, exceeding the Philippine national average of 44%. Continuous training programs, robust employee engagement initiatives, and comprehensive mental health support are actively strengthening workforce resilience and elevating service quality across the organization.

Upholding Unwavering Governance and Accountability

The carrier maintains exemplary governance practices, fortified by enhanced anti-corruption measures, stringent compliance systems, and unequivocal accountability throughout its operations and partnerships. This commitment to ethical conduct reinforces trust and transparency among all stakeholders.

Elevating Customer Experience and Satisfaction

These comprehensive initiatives have culminated in a significantly improved customer experience. Cebu Pacific recorded an impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of +35, marking a seven-point increase from the previous year. Notable gains in critical service areas such as boarding efficiency, baggage handling, and inflight service signal heightened passenger satisfaction and loyalty.

Following a robust performance in 2025, Cebu Pacific is poised to build powerful momentum as it commemorates its 30th anniversary. The airline remains dedicated to expanding accessible and affordable air travel while simultaneously advancing its groundbreaking sustainability commitments, charting a course for a more responsible and prosperous future.
