Daylight Ambush Claims Two Lives, Investigation Underway

MANILA, Philippines – A brazen daylight ambush in Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The victims, yet to be identified, were inside a vehicle on Timog Avenue at the intersection of EDSA when gunmen attacked.

Eyewitness video captured a chilling scene: an assailant opened the passenger door and fired multiple shots into the vehicle. The suspects then fled towards Cubao.

Initial investigations indicate that the victims’ vehicle was traveling towards East Avenue when it was intercepted and riddled with bullets. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to their injuries. Police Lt. Col. Zachary M. Capellan of the Kamuning Police Station confirmed the fatalities.

Authorities recovered multiple .45 caliber shell casings at the crime scene. The motive and identities of the perpetrators remain under active investigation.

The Quezon City Police District has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a comprehensive inquiry. Investigators are conducting extensive “backtracking and forward tracking operations” in collaboration with the QCPD operating unit and Police Station 10 to identify and apprehend the suspects. The manhunt is ongoing.
