MANILA, Philippines & HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippines’ premier carrier, has finalized a significant wet lease agreement with Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier of Vietnam. This collaboration underscores Cebu Pacific’s expanding operational capabilities and commitment to supporting regional aviation growth.

Under the agreement, Cebu Pacific will deploy one state-of-the-art Airbus A320neo aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney engines, to enhance Vietnam Airlines’ flight operations. This aircraft will be based in Ho Chi Minh City and will operate on key domestic routes, including services to and from Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, Vinh, and Da Nang, from July 15 to September 7, 2026. Cebu Pacific pilots and cabin crew will operate the aircraft, ensuring seamless integration and upholding the highest service standards.

Mark Cezar, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the mutual benefits of this partnership: “Southeast Asia’s air travel market continues its robust expansion, fostering opportunities for airline collaboration to effectively meet demand. As Cebu Pacific’s fleet grows, we are strategically positioned to deploy our capacity where it is most impactful, including through such wet lease partnerships during periods of adjusted demand in the Philippines.”

Cezar further elaborated on the strategic importance of the deal: “This collaboration with Vietnam Airlines allows Cebu Pacific to extend its role beyond passenger services, offering vital operational support to carriers across the region. It also diversifies our revenue streams and strengthens our footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets.”

This agreement reinforces Cebu Pacific’s expertise in wet lease arrangements, serving both as a lessor and a lessee. Notably, in 2023, Cebu Pacific entered a damp lease agreement with Bulgaria Air for two A320ceo aircraft to cater to surging Philippine travel demand during the post-pandemic recovery. Furthermore, Cebu Pacific successfully provided wet lease services to the Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier flyadeal, deploying two A320 aircraft to enhance its fleet during the peak summer season of 2025.
