MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier and pioneer in Asian aviation, is taking a big leap forward in air travel distribution with the launch of its New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform, powered by Amadeus.

The move promises to revolutionize how PAL connects with travel partners and customers, ushering in an era of personalized, transparent, and efficient travel experiences.

The NDC integration empowers PAL to offer a dynamic booking and selling platform that provides direct access to a wealth of passenger preferences.

From optimized flight schedules and preferred seat selections to customized in-flight meals and a range of ancillary services, travelers will now enjoy unprecedented control over their journey.

“We are thrilled to spearhead this modern distribution solution within the Philippines,” said PAL Vice President for Sales and Distribution Justin Warby. “This initiative underscores PAL’s unwavering commitment to modernizing distribution methods, delivering tangible benefits to both our valued distribution partners and discerning customers,” Warby added.

Through the NDC platform, travel partners gain the ability to offer competitively priced, personalized ancillary products, including seat upgrades, pre-paid baggage allowances, and curated meal options, enhancing their value proposition and driving revenue growth.

PAL offers three distinct channels for partners to connect to its NDC platform:

  • Connect API: Enables seamless integration with existing travel agency ticketing solutions, streamlining workflows and minimizing disruption.
  • Connect Hub: Provides a user-friendly, ready-to-use travel agency portal, offering immediate access to NDC content.
  • Connect +: Grants access to NDC content via aggregator platforms, expanding reach and maximizing flexibility.

The initial rollout will focus on key international markets such as the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

To ensure a smooth transition, NDC will be implemented alongside the existing Global Distribution System (GDS), guaranteeing uninterrupted service for PAL’s extensive network of global partners and customers.

By embracing NDC, PAL joins a growing cohort of over 60 leading global airlines, solidifying its position as an innovator committed to efficiency and delivering a superior customer experience.
