MANILA, Philippines – In an unexpected twist of fate, a returning passenger from Singapore has found herself in handcuffs rather than in the embrace of loved ones at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

Police arrested her on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) for seven counts of cybercrime-qualified robbery.

The Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group–NCR Field Unit and the Southern Metro Manila District FU, apprehended the individual moments after she disembarked from the plane at NAIA Terminal 1.

Authorities acted on a warrant dated April 22, 2025, charging her with seven counts of Robbery with Intimidation Against a Person based on Article 294 of the Revised Penal Code and qualified by Section 6 of Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Bail was recommended at P700,000.

The accused is now in the custody of the CIDG–NCRFU at the Southern Metro Manila District Field Unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, for further investigation.

She will undergo documentation and subsequent legal proceedings.

“We are ramping up our efforts to track down wanted individuals, ensuring that no one can evade justice, regardless of their travels,” said PNP director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy.
