MANILA, Philippines – Reigning Mrs. Universe Asia-USA 2025, Sue Tran, a former Olongapo City native now based in the United States, is trading the fashion runway for a global stage, vying for the title of Mrs. Universe 2025 at the prestigious Mrs. Universe 2025 pageant, slated for October 8 at the Okada Hotel in Manila.

While the sparkle of the crown is undeniable, for Tran, it represents a powerful platform to amplify a cause close to her heart: combating domestic violence.

“I’m incredibly excited to connect with the other candidates and share this experience,” Tran shared, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

However, she emphasized that the competition is secondary to her mission.

“Winning Mrs. Universe 2025 isn’t the ultimate goal. It’s about empowering women who are silenced by abuse and raising awareness about this pervasive issue.”

Tran’s commitment stems from years of firsthand experience.

For nearly seven years, she has quietly supported women trapped in abusive relationships, including close friends.

“I’ve been a confidante and a lifeline for victims of domestic violence, providing financial and emotional support, and even ensuring their physical safety,” she revealed.

“Often, these women don’t even realize they are victims. Shame and fear keep them silent, perpetuating the cycle of abuse.”

Balancing her advocacy with a thriving modeling career and personal life requires discipline and a positive outlook.

“It can be overwhelming juggling everything!” she admits.

“But I start each day with exercise, meditation, and a good cup of coffee. It’s important to enjoy life – we work hard, and we deserve to live it fully.”

Beyond the titles and accolades, Tran describes herself as a compassionate and authentic individual.

“Those who know me understand that I’m kind but also fiercely independent. I believe in karma and strive to live with integrity. What you see is what you get – I’m not one to put on a facade,” she declares.

Tran hopes to instill these values in her children.

“I want them to be proud of me, to see that their mom is not just beautiful, but also uses her platform to make a difference. They are my biggest supporters.”

The journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

Tran acknowledges facing threats, fears, and moments of overwhelm.

To navigate these hurdles, she relies on inner strength and a positive mindset.

“When things get tough, I turn to exercise, motivational music, and meditation. It’s crucial to nourish your mind with positive affirmations because your thoughts shape your reality,” she advised.

“Surround yourself with people who inspire growth and success, and distance yourself from negativity.”

Tran draws inspiration from self-reliance and impactful figures like the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.

“I’m a self-made woman, learning and growing through experience. Senator Santiago’s fierce intellect and unwavering commitment to justice were incredibly inspiring.”

For Tran, Mrs. Universe 2025 is more than a pageant; it’s a global platform to amplify her lifelong dedication to empowering women and breaking the cycle of domestic violence.

“Even if I don’t win the crown, I will continue my work as Mrs. Universe Asia-USA, supporting charities, educating women, and advocating for change. Domestic violence affects people of all backgrounds. I will fight for this cause for the rest of my life,” she pointed out.

Tran embodies a powerful message: true beauty lies not just in appearance, but in a voice, a mission, and a heart dedicated to making the world a better place.
