MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, is promoting efficient packing and adherence to baggage policies through an innovative airport event designed to enhance the travel experience for all passengers.

On September 4th, the airline celebrated “BOARDING PASSers” – passengers who successfully complied with hand-carry regulations – in a festive recognition ceremony at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3.

The event, held for passengers of Flight 5J 971 bound for Davao, honored travelers whose hand-carry items fit CEB’s updated baggage sizers. These “BOARDING PASSers” received certificates from a “Baggage Regulation Commission” and were awarded a “CEBlay,” a symbol of responsible travel.

Cebie, the airline’s mascot, delivered an inspiring message, encouraging these passengers to serve as models for their fellow travelers. Upon arrival in Davao, a congratulatory banner further amplified the festive atmosphere, echoing Filipino graduation traditions.

This initiative underscores the critical role of baggage policy compliance in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable journey. When luggage meets specified size and weight limits, it facilitates quicker stowage, significantly minimizing flight delays and promoting on-time departures. Moreover, correctly sized and stowed hand-carry items contribute to cabin safety by keeping aisles and emergency exits clear while ensuring equitable distribution of overhead compartment space.

Lei Apostol, CEB Vice President for Customer Service Operations, emphasized the profound impact of these seemingly minor actions: “Adhering to hand-carry guidelines makes a substantial difference. Through this initiative, we express our gratitude to passengers who follow baggage guidelines. Their simple act of compliance contributes to a smoother and more convenient journey for everyone. By recognizing our ‘BOARDING PASSers,’ we also aim to demonstrate that compliance is not merely a requirement but a source of traveler pride.”

Cebu Pacific reminds passengers that they are permitted two complimentary cabin items: a hand-carry item for the overhead bin and a personal item for under the seat. Hand-carry items must adhere to specific dimensions: 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm (height x length x width) for the main item and 20 cm x 20 cm x 35 cm for the personal item.

Travelers are strongly advised to verify their baggage allowance prior to their flight and confirm that all hand-carry items comply with the airline’s size and weight requirements. For added convenience, passengers can pre-purchase or add additional checked baggage allowance via the Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific accounts. Online check-in, available through the CEB mobile app and website, further streamlines the airport process, allowing passengers without checked baggage to proceed directly to their boarding gates.

Cebu Pacific currently operates flights to 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
