LTFRB Revokes Operating Authority of Two TNCs Over Flagrant Violations

MANILA, Philippines – In a decisive move to uphold public transportation standards, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), operating under the directive of Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Giovanni Z. Lopez, has revoked the operating authority and denied the renewal applications of two Transport Network Companies (TNCs).

Acting LTFRB Chairman Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. confirmed that the board’s decision followed an exhaustive investigation revealing that Leggo Information Technology Solutions and Aztech Solutions International Corp. critically failed to meet the stipulated conditions for providing a robust platform for Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).

“The granting of a Certificate of Accreditation inherently carries a profound responsibility, an obligation, and a commitment to deliver exemplary services to the commuting public. This is a condition that must be rigorously adhered to,” stated Chairman Pua. “When these rules are violated, accountability is not merely sought but enforced, as demonstrated in the case of these two TNCs.”

The LTFRB initiated its inquiry following reports that both TNCs had ceased active operations, a fact subsequently corroborated by the agency’s meticulous investigation. Initially penalized with the cancellation and revocation of their Certificates of Accreditation for failing to provide valid explanations for administrative issues, their applications for renewal were subsequently rejected due to persistent non-compliance with LTFRB regulations.

Chairman Pua issued a stern reminder to all TNCs and operators regarding strict adherence to LTFRB regulations to circumvent legal repercussions. He emphasized that the rigorous enforcement of public utility vehicle operating conditions aligns directly with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s mandate to significantly enhance the nation’s public transportation systems.

Pua underscored the LTFRB’s unwavering commitment to suspend or revoke any operating authority if the interests of commuters, particularly their right to a safe, reliable, and comfortable commuting experience, are jeopardized.

“The public utility vehicle sector is intensely competitive. There are responsible operators prepared to deliver the caliber of public transportation services the Filipino people rightfully deserve,” Chairman Pua concluded.
