Former Singer-Actress Lindsay Custodio Faces Arrest Warrant in Cyber Libel Case

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Former singer and actress Lindsay Custodio is reportedly facing arrest following a cyber-libel case filed by her estranged husband, Frederick Cale.

The Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 11 has issued a warrant for her arrest in connection with the complaint.

The case centers around accusations of online defamation, with Cale alleging that Custodio made false and malicious statements about him on social media.

The content, however, of the allegedly libelous posts has not been publicly disclosed.

Cale’s legal team has denied Custodio’s accusations, saying the case is about accountability for online behavior rather than a sensationalized celebrity dispute.

“This is about accountability, not showbiz intrigue,” Cale’s legal team stated in a released statement.

“We answered and faced the said allegations in the right venue and proper forum, which is our court, not the social media court,” it said.

“The court has spoken, and let due process take its course. We trust in our justice system that justice will be served and the truth will prevail in the end.”

While authorities have yet to confirm whether the arrest warrant has been served, the case highlights the growing legal ramifications of online speech and the potential for civil and criminal penalties for defamatory statements made on social media platforms.
