MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. made an unannounced visit to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Tuesday (June 4, 2025) to assess the progress of ongoing improvement projects at the country’s primary international gateway.

The surprise inspection came as the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) undertakes a major transformation of the airport under a public-private partnership awarded during the Marcos administration.

While significant improvements are yet to be fully realized, the President’s presence underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the airport experience for millions of passengers.

The visit also signals a proactive approach to ensuring the NNIC adheres to its mandate and delivers tangible results in modernizing the NAIA.

The airport, often criticized for its outdated infrastructure and operational inefficiencies, is undergoing a comprehensive overhaul designed to improve passenger flow, upgrade facilities, and enhance overall efficiency.

Details of the President’s observations during the inspection were not immediately available.

However, the visit serves as a clear indication that the Marcos administration is closely monitoring the progress of the NAIA rehabilitation project and prioritizing the modernization of the country’s vital transportation infrastructure.
