Around 1 a.m., Lorenzo stopped at the fast-food restaurant to buy a late-night treat for his family.

As he reached for his phone, disaster struck – a wad of cash totaling P7,000 slipped unnoticed from his pocket.

Oblivious, he entered the restaurant to place his order.

It was then that a young boy, his name currently unknown, approached Lorenzo.

With wide, earnest eyes, he informed Lorenzo that he had dropped his money.

Overwhelmed by the boy’s honesty, Lorenzo insisted on rewarding him with a meal.

But the boy, despite his circumstances, refused, claiming he was already full.

Deeply touched, Lorenzo pressed a small amount of cash into the boy’s hand. It was then that the young boy’s stoicism crumbled, and tears welled in his eyes.

He explained that the money would be given to his ailing mother. His father, he shared, was no longer able to work due to failing eyesight.

“He didn’t even consider pocketing the money or running away with it,” Lorenzo recounted, his voice thick with emotion.

“He said his mother raised him to be kind and honest, even though they are poor. He said it wasn’t his money.”

The encounter left Lorenzo profoundly moved. “God bless you, young man,” he wrote in a Facebook post that has since gone viral. “We will meet again. I promise to make it up to you.”
