PALM BEACH, FL – An armed man was fatally shot by law enforcement early Sunday morning after breaching the security perimeter of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, raising serious questions about the effectiveness of security protocols at the highly scrutinized property.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. ET, involving a 21-year-old North Carolina resident who authorities say gained unauthorized access to the grounds while armed with a shotgun and carrying a fuel can.

“The individual advanced approximately 20 to 30 yards onto the property before being confronted by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy and two U.S. Secret Service agents,” Sheriff Bradshaw explained. “Law enforcement officers issued clear and repeated verbal commands, ordering the man to drop his items. While he initially complied by dropping the fuel can, he then allegedly raised the shotgun in what appeared to be a shooting position, at which point officers were compelled to discharge their weapons.”

Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding further details about his identity pending notification of his next of kin.

Sources have confirmed that Martin’s mother reported him missing to North Carolina authorities on Saturday, adding complexity to the ongoing investigation.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has assumed primary jurisdiction over the investigation, deploying agents to meticulously process the scene and gather evidence.
