DUBAI, UAE – Amid escalating geopolitical tensions and a challenging global economic climate, the Government of Dubai has announced a comprehensive Dhs1 billion economic stimulus package aimed at safeguarding jobs and bolstering the emirate’s economy.

The initiative, approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, will be rolled out over the next three to six months, starting today.

The sweeping measures are designed to alleviate financial pressures on businesses and individuals across various sectors.

Key highlights include significant relief for the hospitality and tourism industry, with a three-month deferment of 100% of sales fees and the Tourism Dirham

This move is expected to inject much-needed liquidity into a sector crucial to Dubai’s economy.

Further easing burdens, the initiative extends customs data grace periods from 30 to 90 days, with the potential for further extensions.

Moreover, the process for issuing and renewing residency permits will be streamlined, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to attracting and retaining global talent.

Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan underscored the emirate’s unwavering resolve, stating on X, “Our message is clear: Dubai remains committed to supporting individuals, families, and businesses with confidence and stability. With strong institutions and deep community ties, the emirate continues to grow, turning challenges into opportunities and emerging stronger than ever.”

Beyond immediate relief, the Executive Council also approved the Dubai Empowerment Strategy, a long-term plan to create thousands of job opportunities, elevate living standards, strengthen financial stability, and promote sustainable employment for Emirati families.

In a separate but related move, the Health and Safety Strategy for Workers’ Accommodations was greenlit, targeting 100% access to essential services and full compliance of workers’ accommodations by 2033.

This initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to improving the welfare and working conditions of its labor force.

These strategic announcements demonstrate Dubai’s proactive approach to navigating global uncertainties and ensuring sustained economic resilience and social well-being.
