Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi has clarified that this unprecedented adjustment is a direct response to the escalating global economic landscape.

While acknowledging the substantial increase, Motegi expressed optimism that the revised fees will not immediately diminish Japan’s allure as a top-tier international travel destination.
