MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has successfully apprehended a 57-year-old Australian national, Bradley Vincent Gould, who was the subject of a long-standing deportation order. The high-impact arrest, executed on Thursday, July 10, in Bacolod City, sends a clear message about the Philippines’ commitment to removing undesirable foreign individuals.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, in a statement emphasizing the Bureau’s unwavering resolve, confirmed Gould’s capture in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City. The meticulously planned operation was spearheaded by the Bureau’s elite Regional Intelligence Operations Unit–Region VI, operating in seamless coordination with a formidable inter-agency task force comprising the Philippine National Police, Naval Forces Central, and the Philippine Air Force. This multi-agency collaboration highlights an escalated national effort to track and apprehend individuals posing a threat to Philippine order.

According to official sources, Gould had been the target of an active warrant of deportation, meticulously issued by the Bureau following a series of serious complaints. These complaints detailed allegations of harassment and psychological abuse, painting a disturbing profile that triggered his removal mandate. Gould’s prolonged evasion was brought to an end through persistent intelligence monitoring, which ultimately pinpointed his location and allowed BI operatives to confirm his identity unequivocally before the arrest.

Following his apprehension, Gould was promptly informed of his constitutional rights, a standard procedure meticulously observed by the arresting team. He was subsequently transported under secure escort to Manila and committed to the Bureau of Immigration Warden Facility in Muntinlupa City, where he will remain incarcerated pending the finalization and execution of his deportation.

Commissioner Viado’s remarks following the operation underscored the BI’s resolute commitment: “We remain steadfast in our mission to ensure that foreign nationals who transgress Philippine laws are not only held accountable but are swiftly removed from our shores. This operation serves as a potent reminder that the Philippines is not a sanctuary for those who disregard our legal framework.”

He further asserted, “We will continue to enforce our immigration laws decisively and work closely with our dedicated law enforcement partners. This ensures that every individual ordered deported is located, apprehended, and ultimately removed from the country, safeguarding our communities and national integrity.”

The Bureau also extended profound gratitude to its allied law enforcement agencies, whose indispensable assistance was crucial to the operation’s success. The BI emphasized that such robust inter-agency cooperation is paramount, forming the bedrock of national security and ensuring the uncompromised integrity of the country’s immigration system. This collaborative triumph signals a new era of vigilance and enforcement, reflecting a nation’s commitment to self-preservation and the rigorous application of its laws.
