Christian G. Lao: A Beacon of Hope and Service in Allen, Northern Samar

In the vibrant heart of Allen, Northern Samar, Christian G. Lao emerges as a radiant beacon of hope and steadfast service. A proud graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration from the Philippine Maritime Institute, he has been a licensed customs broker since 2011. Since assuming the presidency of CGLao Customs Brokerage in 2011, Christian has carved a significant niche in the customs industry, blending expertise with a commitment to community upliftment. His journey began in the nurturing environment of St. Francis College and Kinaguitman Elementary School, where the seeds of leadership were sown. As the son of former councilor Ruben Portes Lao and retired educator Mrs. Victoria G. Lao, he draws inspiration from a rich legacy of public service.

Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Christian stepped up to the plate by founding the Christian Lao Cares Foundation in 2018. His remarkable efforts earned recognition from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on World Humanitarian Day. Undeterred by the pandemic’s perils, he took to the streets, distributing face masks, face shields, and free rice to 10,000 families in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and resilience.

Yet, his commitment to community welfare extends far beyond this initiative. With the generous support of Padjie and Madam Ruvic Lao from Sprav Trucking, Christian has facilitated the provision of an ambulance and secured two hectares of land for the homeless. As Vice Mayor, he has championed programs that provide free medications and vitamins for individuals battling high blood pressure and diabetes, prioritizing the health and well-being of his constituents.

Despite facing financial hurdles, Vice Mayor Lao has tirelessly sought assistance from the Senate, successfully garnering support from Senators Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and Francis Tolentino. His advocacy has paved the way for essential health services, including free laboratory tests and medical assistance, thereby fortifying the local healthcare landscape.

Beyond healthcare, Vice Mayor Lao has invigorated initiatives in education, agriculture, tourism, social services, environmental protection, and peace and order. With the 2025 midterm elections on the horizon, he remains steadfast in his commitment to his constituents, prioritizing their calls for ongoing support and development.

As he prepares to lead into the upcoming elections, Vice Mayor Christian Lao stands poised to be the top choice on the ballots in Allen, Northern Samar, embodying the spirit of service and dedication that his community has come to depend on.
