MANILA, Philippines – A woman known as “Alice Guo of Metro Manila” has been arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for alleged identity fraud.

Wang Xiujun, a 43-year-old Chinese national, arrived on Sunday (July 13, 2025) at NAIA Terminal 3 from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, when authorities collared her.

A joint operation by the Immigration Border Control and Intelligence Unit and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) resulted in her immediate arrest.

Wang introduced herself as Cassia Palma Poliquit, a Filipino citizen, but was identified as Wang Xiujun after a thorough analysis and examination of her fingerprints by the NBI.

She is suspected of securing a Philippine passport and birth certificate through late registration, despite holding an investor’s visa as a Chinese national, a case similar to that of former Bamban mayor Alice Guo.

“The Bureau of Immigration (BI) received vital intelligence information from the NBI regarding Wang’s dubious identity, prompting her surveillance and subsequent arrest,” Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said.

Wang is currently in the custody of the BI, awaiting deportation proceedings.

Authorities said she has been operating businesses related to the sale and distribution of electric vehicles in Metro Manila, using a fraudulently obtained Filipino identity.

Viado thanked the NBI for its prompt action and effective collaboration with his office in bringing Wang to justice.

“The BI and the NBI have been working hand in hand, leading to the arrest of key players in identity theft and the illegal use of Philippine documents,” Viado declared.

“We commend our law enforcement partners and pledge to continue our joint efforts to eliminate these threats to our nation,” he added.

The arrest underscores the commitment of the government to fight identity fraud and uphold the integrity of national documents.
