MANILA, Philippines – Aviation giant SIA Engineering Co. Ltd. (SIAEC), a leading aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider in the Asia-Pacific region, is set to establish operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) next month through its Philippine subsidiary, SIA Engineering (Philippines) Corp. (SIAEP).

The move underscores growing confidence in NAIA’s ongoing improvements and its potential to evolve into a robust aviation hub.

SIAEP, a trusted MRO provider already operating successfully in Clark, Pampanga, is majority-owned by the Singapore Airlines Group.

Known for its support of numerous top global airlines, SIAEP’s expansion to NAIA is expected to significantly benefit local carriers and the aviation industry in general by fostering skills development, knowledge transfer, and job creation in aircraft maintenance.

“This is a big boost for NAIA and for Philippine aviation,” said Ramon S. Ang, president and CEO of airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).

“We welcome SIAEP and look forward to working closely with them to improve support for airlines operating here,” Ang added.

The presence of SIAEP at NAIA promises faster aircraft turnaround times and enhanced technical support, directly benefiting both airlines and passengers.

This development is a key component of NNIC’s broader strategy to elevate NAIA’s standards and transform it into a more reliable gateway.

SIAEP’s arrival is expected to attract other major MRO companies to NAIA.

NNIC reports that several firms have already expressed interest in establishing a presence at the airport.

Increased competition within the MRO sector will provide airlines with greater choice, leading to improved service options and enhanced overall efficiency.

“This is part of our broader push to raise NAIA’s standards and make it a better, more reliable gateway.” The expansion is poised to solidify NAIA’s position as a key player in the regional aviation landscape.
