MANILA, Philippines – Journalist Dulce Sanchez, who recently joined INQUIRER.net, will be signing copies of “Love Quickies,” a compelling anthology she edited, at the Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the Boox That Leave a Mark booth.

Published by San Anselmo Publications Inc., “Love Quickies” is a unique collection of short stories, poems, and illustrations that delve into the multifaceted experiences of love and loss.

Featuring a diverse roster of talented writers, including Beverly Wico Siy, Ronald Verzo II, and many more, this anthology offers a fresh and engaging perspective on matters of the heart.

A Literary Snack: Affordable, Accessible

The title, “Love Quickies,” aptly reflects the book’s format: concise and impactful pieces, most clocking in under 1,000 words.

Conceived during a brainstorming session with SA Chapbooks editor Mike Doria and editorial team lead Alma Anonas-Carpio, “Love Quickies” aims to provide accessible and affordable literature.

Priced lower than a cup of coffee, this pamphlet-style book is designed for readers to easily carry and enjoy anywhere.

A Chorus of Voices: Couples and Singles Unite

What sets “Love Quickies” apart is its inclusion of several couples writing side by side, interwoven with the distinct voices of individual contributors.

The anthology opens with a playful “roast” between Siy and Verzo and culminates in a poignant exchange between San Anselmo Publications’ husband-and-wife team, Marvin Aceron and Celeste Lecaroz.

Aceron’s poem reflects on a near loss, while Lecaroz’s accompanying photo and sketch capture him in his creative element, completing a cycle of intimacy and artistry.

Part of the SA Chapbooks Initiative

“Love Quickies” is a part of SA Chapbooks, an initiative dedicated to providing emerging poets and writers a platform to reach wider audiences.

Spearheaded by Doria, SA Chapbooks has already released six titles, including “Memory and Freedom,” “Surviving ’til First Light,” and “Tales from the Bakunawa.”

Four more titles are currently under development.
