PAL Expands VisMin Network, Launches Direct Cebu-Calbayog Flights

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, is bolstering its regional network with the launch of a new direct route connecting Cebu and Calbayog.

Starting Oct. 26, flights will operate four times weekly, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, offering travelers enhanced connectivity between the Visayas and Mindanao.

The new Cebu-Calbayog service is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Cebu as a strategic hub.

“The launch of our Cebu-Calbayog route is a milestone in our mission to empower regional gateways like Cebu,” said PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang.

“This new service will provide travelers from Eastern Visayas direct access to Visayas and Mindanao, enhancing connectivity and convenience. We’re investing in Cebu as a strategic hub to help drive tourism and economic growth across the region,” Ang added.

Besides the new route, PAL is increasing flight frequencies to popular island destinations and key regional cities. These include:

• Cebu-Siargao & Cebu-Busuanga (Coron): Flights increasing to thrice daily, providing more convenient access to these tropical paradises without requiring a Manila layover.

• Cebu-Bacolod: Increased from 14 to 18 flights weekly.

• Cebu-Butuan: Increased from seven to 11 flights weekly.

• Cebu-Cotabato: Increased from two to three flights weekly.

• Cebu-Ozamiz: Increased from three to four flights weekly.

• Cebu-Tacloban: Increased from 11 to 14 flights weekly.

The expanded services underscore PAL’s commitment to positioning Cebu as a central gateway to the Visayas, Mindanao, and beyond.

From Mactan-Cebu International Airport, PAL also offers regional flights to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Seoul (Incheon), Tokyo (Narita), and Osaka (Kansai).

The flight schedules are:

• PR 2668 Cebu-Calbayog: Departs Cebu at 7:30 a.m., arrives in Calbayog at 8:35 a.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday)

• PR 2669 Calbayog-Cebu: Departs Calbayog at 8:55 a.m., arrives in Cebu at 10 a.m. (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday)
