MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, is strategically expanding its international flight network to meet surging travel demand this holiday season, promising passengers smoother journeys and greater flexibility.

The airline is significantly boosting capacity on key routes to Australia, Japan, and the United States, reinforcing its commitment to connecting travelers with the world.

Australia

PAL is doubling down on the Philippines-Australia market with increased flight frequencies and larger aircraft. The Manila-Perth route will surge from three to six weekly flights between mid-December 2023 and mid-January 2024. Manila-Melbourne will see an increase from five weekly flights to a daily service. Select Manila-Brisbane flights will be upgraded to the Airbus A330, offering a tri-class experience.

“As the country’s flag carrier, we remain committed to enhancing our network, ensuring we meet robust demand and connect travelers to more destinations during the peak travel season,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall.

“This commitment extends to delivering world-class excellence, heartfelt care, and providing the warmth of Filipino hospitality in every journey.”

Japan and Other Asian Destinations Gain Frequency

Beyond Australia, PAL is reinforcing its presence across key Asian routes. Manila-Da Nang will operate daily from Oct. 26, 2023, to March 28, 2024.

Manila-Busan flights will increase from seven to 11 a week during the same period.

The airline is also reviving seasonal non-stop flights between Manila and Sapporo, with thrice-weekly service from Nov. 24, 2025, to March 27, 2026.

To Japan alone, PAL is adding an additional 12 roundtrip flights between Manila and Narita, Manila and Osaka, and Manila and Nagoya during the peak travel season.

Cebu Expansion

PAL is also bolstering its Cebu operations, adding five roundtrips between Cebu and Osaka and four roundtrips to the Cebu-Narita route.

Starting Dec. 16, PAL will launch thrice-weekly nonstop flights between Cebu and Guam, demonstrating its commitment to expanding regional access and supporting the growing demand for convenient travel options between the Philippines and the US Pacific territory.

US Network Strengthened

In the United States, Manila-Seattle services will expand from three to five times weekly starting Nov. 25, complementing PAL’s existing services to San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Honolulu.

This strategic expansion underscores PAL’s dedication to providing world-class service, expanded connectivity, and convenient travel options, creating opportunities for travelers to explore and experience the Philippines’ vibrant culture and warm hospitality.
