Pasig Court Denies Anew Quiboloy’s Hospital Arrest Bid

MANILA, Philippines – Self-proclaimed “Son of God” Apollo Quiboloy has suffered another legal setback as a Pasig court denied his renewed petition for hospital arrest.

In an order dated Sept. 22, 2025, released only yesterday, the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 rejected Quiboloy’s appeal, finding his justification for the transfer unconvincing.

This is the second time the court has rebuffed Quiboloy’s attempt to secure hospital detention, following a similar denial in 2024.

The controversial preacher, currently facing serious charges such as qualified human trafficking, cited ongoing health concerns, including shortness of breath, fever, muscle pain, and coughing, as reasons for his request.

He sought transfer to either the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City or The Medical City in Pasig.

However, the RTC highlighted medical evaluations from Quiboloy’s physician at the Pasig City Medical Center, which indicated stabilized vital signs and an absence of new health complaints since Sept. 24, 2025.

Further assessments in pulmonary, cardiology, and nephrology cleared him for discharge on Sept. 25 and 26.

“In light of the above, the Court finds no compelling reason to place accused Quiboloy under hospital arrest at either the Philippine Heart Center or Medical City,” the court stated in its order.

The ruling emphasized that Quiboloy’s medical needs are being adequately met within the Pasig City Jail, where he receives timely and appropriate care from qualified medical professionals at the Pasig City General Hospital.

The Pasig RTC Branch 159 is currently presiding over the non-bailable qualified human trafficking case against Quiboloy.

He also faces separate sex and child trafficking allegations in a Quezon City RTC, adding to the legal pressures mounting against the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) religious leader.
