PAL Warms Up Winter with Return of Manila-Sapporo Flights

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to reconnect Manila with the winter wonderland of Sapporo, Japan, launching seasonal nonstop flights between the two cities starting Nov. 24.

The resumption of the popular route offers travelers a convenient gateway to experience Hokkaido’s vibrant capital, renowned for its world-class ski resorts, captivating cultural festivals, and delectable culinary scene.

Flight PR 406 will depart Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:30 a.m., whisking passengers away to Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport in comfort and style.

The seasonal service will operate until March 27, 2026, providing ample opportunity to explore the city’s iconic Snow Festival, indulge in signature Sapporo ramen and soup curry, and savor the freshest seafood.

“By re-launching this seasonal route, we are opening a gateway for travelers to experience Philippine Airlines’ world-class service and signature heartfelt hospitality while supporting demand for flights between the two destinations,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall.

The flights will be serviced by PAL’s modern Airbus A321neo aircraft, featuring 12 business class and 156 economy class seats.

Passengers can enjoy a comfortable journey with extensive inflight entertainment options and onboard Wi-Fi connectivity.

Beyond Sapporo’s winter charms, the route also offers Japanese travelers easy access to the Philippines’ diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage. PAL’s extensive network further enhances connectivity, solidifying its position as the leading carrier between the Philippines and Japan.

The airline boasts the largest network of destination points and routes between the two countries, with nonstop services to Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Tokyo Haneda, and Tokyo Narita, as well as direct flights from Cebu to Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Narita.

The inaugural flight was celebrated with passengers receiving exclusive PAL merchandise, adding a touch of festivity to the occasion.

• Departs Manila (MNL) at 06:30 AM, arrives in Sapporo (CTS) at 12:15 PM (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

PR 405 Sapporo-Manila:

• Departs Sapporo (CTS) at 01:15 PM, arrives in Manila (MNL) at 06:15 PM (Monday,  Wednesday, Friday)
