Cebu Pacific Partners with NBI to Combat Unauthorized Flight Resellers

MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific has partnered with the National Bureau of Investigation to identify and apprehend unauthorized flight resellers using fraudulent and stolen credit cards.

At the same time, the airline is working closely with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Civil Aeronautics Board to alert the public to the dangers of booking flights through unofficial channels.

According to Cebu Pacific, an internal investigation revealed that certain individuals were using compromised credit cards to book flights, convert them into Travel Funds, and illegally resell these flights through unauthorized platforms.

The airline has canceled bookings made with fraudulent credit cards confirmed by its partner banks.

“Cebu Pacific is now working with the National Bureau of Investigation to identify unauthorized sellers of its flights,” said Cebu Pacific spokesperson Carmina Reyes-Romero.

Passengers whose bookings have been canceled due to this fraudulent activity have been notified and advised to rebook their flights directly through the airline’s official website, www.cebupacificair.com, using a valid and authorized payment method.
