Iranian Revolutionary Guard Launches Strikes Against U.S. Forces In Retaliation

BRISBANE, Australia – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reportedly launched retaliatory attacks targeting U.S. military assets, including the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters, an airbase, and military helicopters in a regional country. 

Iranian state media outlets confirmed the strikes, asserting they were a direct response to a perceived American assault on a communications tower located south of Iran’s Qeshm Island.

Further reports from Iranian sources indicate that the IRGC Navy also engaged a vessel identified as “Panaya” with missile fire. 

This maritime action was framed as a direct reprisal for what the IRGC described as a U.S. attack on an Iranian tanker near the critical Strait of Hormuz, an incident that reportedly caused damage to the tanker’s engine room.

A statement attributed to the IRGC, widely cited by local media, underscored the severity of the situation: “Disrupting the security of the Strait of Hormuz will carry a heavy price for the U.S. military.” 

These incidents escalate already heightened tensions in the strategically vital Persian Gulf region, raising significant concerns about the potential for broader conflict.
