PASAY CITY, Philippines – Vice Mayor Mark Calixto celebrated a significant milestone in his first year of public service on Saturday, July 4, at T. Paez Elementary School in Malibay.

The “MARKASIYAHAN 2026” event highlighted the vibrant community spirit fostered by the Calixto family, with Congressman Antonino “Tony” Calixto and Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano in attendance.

Congressman Tony Calixto, filled with paternal pride, expressed his satisfaction at witnessing his son’s impactful contributions. “It is a great honor to join you today for ‘Markasiyahan Tayo’ – a gathering of gratitude, unity, and celebration for the first year of dedicated service by our diligent Vice Mayor Mark Calixto!” he declared, his voice resonating with admiration.

Throughout his inaugural year, Vice Mayor Mark Calixto has demonstrated a deep commitment to every Pasay resident. Through strategic ordinances and direct community assistance, he has affirmed that the “Calixto brand of service” embodies reliability, efficiency, and compassion.

“As your representative in Congress and a proud father, I am immensely proud of Vice Mayor Mark’s unwavering dedication,” Congressman Calixto emphasized. “The success of his first year is, in essence, the triumph of every Pasayeño family who continues to trust in honest governance.”

Looking ahead, Congressman Calixto highlighted the transformative potential of the reclamation area project, projected for completion by 2028.

This ambitious undertaking is expected to generate substantial revenue for the city, earmarked to propel Pasay’s development and enhance public services for its citizens.

“Together, the progress of our city is unstoppable,” Congressman Calixto affirmed. “The programs initiated during my tenure as Mayor, prioritizing education and health, are now vigorously continued by Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano and Vice Mayor Mark. Let us persistently elevate our city. Happy 1st Anniversary, Vice Mayor Mark! Let’s continue to make Pasay vibrant, prosperous, and joyous.

‘Sa Pasay, walang pasaway.’ (‘In Pasay, there are no troublemakers.’) Long live the City of Pasay!”

Vice Mayor Mark Calixto reiterated his commitment to enhanced service delivery. “One year of service, and we will only improve our efforts,” he pledged. He outlined initiatives such as financial assistance for students and senior citizens, eye check-ups and cataract operations, and robust infrastructure development, including the construction of more schools. He assured citizens of continued comprehensive programs from the Calixto team, including specialized services for solo parents and senior citizens. “Rest assured, ‘Basta Calixto, paglilingkuran kayo,'” he declared, embodying the family’s service-oriented ethos.

Adding to the unified front, Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano’s son, Councilor Luigi Calixto, emphasized the family’s collective dedication: “We are united in delivering service to our constituents because, in Pasay, we serve you with joy.”

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano passionately articulated the critical importance of education, fostering the talents of Pasayeño students, and her vision for establishing world-class hospitals and city universities. “Mayor Emi faithfully serves you, from the womb to the tomb,” a poignant statement encapsulating her deep commitment to the welfare of every Pasay resident throughout their lives.

In a powerful statement, Congressman Calixto proudly emphasized the absence of “ghost projects” in Pasay City. This assertion stands in stark contrast to national concerns regarding systemic kickbacks in flood control projects, where allegations of corruption have seen billions funneled into the pockets of alleged corrupt officials. Pasay’s commitment to transparency and accountability, he implied, sets it apart.
