MANILA, Philippines — Marking three decades of connecting the nation and beyond, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) has officially launched Cebu Pacific Foundation Inc. (CPFI)—extending its mission beyond air travel to build stronger, more resilient communities and advance sustainable tourism through nature-centered solutions.

The Foundation’s mandate is clear: reduce disaster and climate risks, protect critical ecosystems, strengthen local livelihoods, and foster inclusive, sustainable economies. It will partner with grassroots organizations, private-sector allies, civil society, development institutions, and government to turn environmental stewardship into lasting community prosperity.

Rise Capiz Coast: Restoring Nature, Reviving Livelihoods

CPFI’s flagship initiative—the Resilience & Inclusive Support for Empowerment of Capiz Coastal Communities (RISE Capiz Coast) Project—launches in Barangay Culajao, Roxas City, before expanding to Ivisan and Panay municipalities across Capiz.

The project sets a bold, transformative target: restore 100 hectares of degraded coastal ecosystems through mangrove rehabilitation, scaling to 500 hectares by 2030. Beyond ecological restoration, it delivers integrated capacity-building in sustainable livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, and climate adaptation—all tailored to coastal families whose lives depend on these vital landscapes.

For the Katunggan sa Culajao Salbaron Association, Inc. (KACUSA), the local stewardship group leading on-the-ground efforts, the project heals long-standing scars. “Typhoon Yolanda shattered our eco-tourism and our livelihoods,” said Christopher Dasal, KACUSA President. “This partnership will not only restore our mangroves—it will revive tourism, strengthen our economy, and open new doors for our families.”
