MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday, September 8, successfully deported four Japanese nationals wanted for serious criminal offenses, signaling a reinforced commitment to international law enforcement cooperation. The individuals, facing charges ranging from sophisticated fraud schemes to theft in Japan, were identified through a concentrated effort to curb foreign criminal elements operating within Philippine borders.

The deportation contingent included Oi Riho, 28, and Moriyama Yu, 31, both previously flagged as overstaying and undocumented. Their undesirable alien status was further solidified by their alleged deep involvement in a complex web of telecommunication fraud, online gaming deception, and a kidnapping-related plot.

Also among those expelled were Daisuke Ikeno, 51, and Hamai Daisuke, 53. These two individuals were declared undesirable aliens, having been actively sought by Japanese authorities on standing warrants for theft.

All four were escorted by personnel from the Japan National Police Agency (JNPA) onto a Japan Airlines flight bound for Narita.

BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado underscored the agency’s unyielding stance against foreign criminality. “The Bureau of Immigration is intensifying its enforcement efforts and fortifying alliances with international law enforcement partners,” Viado stated. “Our objective is unequivocal: the Philippines will not serve as a sanctuary for fugitives or any foreign nationals engaged in illicit activities that violate our sovereignty and laws.”

The BI confirmed that the deportations were executed in strict adherence to Philippine immigration statutes and established protocols, a testament to the seamless coordination achieved with Japanese authorities. This decisive action reaffirms the Philippines’ resolve to collaborate globally in combating transnational crime and upholding the integrity of its immigration system.
