HONG KONG – Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading airline, marked its 20th anniversary in Hong Kong with a special tribute to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), in recognition of their significant contributions to the airline’s success and the country’s economic development.

In a departure from its tradition, Cebu Pacific presented its prestigious Values Awards – typically reserved for internal employees – to five exemplary OFWs who embody the airline’s core values: integrity, service, trust, courage, and the best of the Filipino spirit.

“From our earliest days, OFWs have been integral to Cebu Pacific’s journey,” said CEB Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer Candice Iyog.

“They are not only among our most loyal customers but also valued members of the Cebu Pacific family. This tribute is a heartfelt expression of our gratitude for their vital role in our growth and their contributions to the progress of our nation,” Iyog added.

The awards ceremony was held on Sunday (June 15, 2025) during the Gawad Parangal Para sa Bagong Bayani, hosted by the Philippine Alliance, the largest Filipino community organization in Hong Kong.

It culminated the celebration for this year’s Migrant Workers’ Day.

Each award recipient received a commemorative plaque and a complimentary Cebu Pacific international roundtrip ticket.

“This recognition of our hard work fills us with immense pride,” said Dante Berido, chairman of the Philippine Alliance.

“It means so much to be seen, valued, and celebrated – not just as workers, but as individuals making a meaningful difference.”

Cebu Pacific’s commitment to OFWs extends beyond its anniversary celebration.

The airline is investing in dedicated initiatives, including the development of an OFW Processing Center at Mactan-Cebu International Airport.

It also maintains ongoing collaborations with the Department of Migrant Workers and various partner non-governmental organizations.

Recently, the airline launched “Juan Flight Closer to Home,” a campaign aimed at attracting OFWs with aviation engineering expertise.

The initiative offers full relocation support for those seeking to return to the Philippines and rebuild their careers.

With a robust network connecting 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific remains dedicated to connecting Filipinos with their homeland and facilitating job opportunities worldwide.
