LTO Streamlines License Renewal With New Online System

MANILA, Philippines – Queues and persistent “fixers” at Land Transportation Office (LTO) branches may soon be a thing of the past.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has launched a comprehensive online system for driver’s license renewal, seamlessly integrated into the eGovPH app.

The system promises a streamlined and convenient alternative to in-person visits.

The initiative, spearheaded by Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to modernize and improve government service efficiency.

“President Marcos Jr. has charged both the DICT and DOTr with enhancing accessibility and simplifying processes at key frontline agencies like the LTO,” Dizon announced during the platform’s launch over the weekend.

The new platform enables drivers to complete the entire renewal process – from submitting requirements and paying fees to undergoing mandatory medical assessments – entirely online and from the convenience of their own homes.

Upon completion, drivers can choose to collect their renewed licenses at a designated LTO branch or opt for direct home delivery.

The platform also offers valuable educational resources for drivers and integrates telemedicine services for convenient medical evaluations.

Officials claimed the entire process of renewing a license could be completed in 15 minutes.

“The days of unnecessary trips to the LTO and the risk of falling prey to fixers are over,” Dizon asserted, saying the platform eradicates the hassles of renewing a license.

The digital transformation represents a significant leap forward in modernizing government services, offering citizens a more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly experience, Dizon said.
