Pageant’s Dark Secrets Exposed: Candidate Alleges Sexploitation Behind the Crown

MANILA, Philippines – The glittering facade of male pageantry has been shattered by a chilling allegation of sexual exploitation.

Jacinth Ziff, a former national candidate for Mister Pilipinas Worldwide representing Butuan City in 2025, has come forward with a harrowing account of sexual harassment and abuse, exposing a disturbing underbelly of pressure and power dynamics within the industry.

Ziff’s revelations raise critical questions about the safety and well-being of aspiring contestants and the potential for exploitation in their pursuit of the crown.

In a powerful statement posted on his Facebook page, Ziff declared, “Sexual harassment is not a ‘grey area.’ It’s abuse. It’s power misused. And every time we stay silent, we protect the predator, not the victim. This ends now.”

Ziff’s narrative centers on alleged incidents that began shortly after his selection in January.

He claims that during a fitting at the studio of a member of his team, he was subjected to inappropriate touching disguised as a professional assessment of his physique.

“There was a moment where I had to take off my clothes for a fitting, which is normal. But then he started feeling my inner thighs and checked every part of my body because ‘he needed to check my flaws,'” Ziff recounted.

“To the point where he touched my private part. That’s when I realized this was crazy, but I thought maybe it was just an accident. I was in shock.”

The most disturbing incident, Ziff alleges, unfolded on Jan. 31, the night before his screening for Mister Pilipinas.

He claims he was pressured into sharing a single hotel room with the same individual, despite promises of separate accommodations.

Ziff further alleges he was subjected to unwanted advances and pressured to wear see-through mesh underwear under the guise of preparing him for the screening.

“He told me to get closer, and the next thing I knew, he was touching my private parts. Feeling everything. Checking everything. He tried to play with me. He asked which way I preferred my private part to go, up or down,” Ziff stated, his voice heavy with the memory. “I was frozen.”

Despite repeatedly expressing his discomfort, Ziff claims his concerns were ignored, leaving him feeling trapped and vulnerable.

He eventually retreated to the bathroom, overcome with emotion.

Following the alleged incidents, Ziff says the promised support and commitment from his team diminished as he resisted their advances, leaving him feeling isolated and abandoned.

The situation was further complicated when Ziff arrived in Manila in March for the Mister Pilipinas competition.

He alleges he was informed he would need to find his own accommodations, despite prior assurances of housing.

He credits the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide organization, particularly “Mama Jonas,” for intervening and providing him with a place to stay.

However, he claims the provided allowance was insufficient to cover Manila’s high cost of living, forcing him to rely on his family for financial support.

Ziff’s allegations expose a potentially systemic issue of power imbalances and exploitation within the pageant industry, highlighting the vulnerability of aspiring contestants.

His courageous decision to speak out is a call for greater accountability and a demand for safer, more respectful environments for all involved.

Mister Pilipinas Worldwide Responds, Severes Ties with Local Team

The Mister Pilipinas Worldwide Organization has issued an official statement expressing solidarity with Ziff and condemning all forms of harassment, assault, and exploitation.

The organization also announced it would no longer be working with Ziff’s local team.

“The Mister Pilipinas Worldwide Organization stands in solidarity with Mr. Jacinth Ziff, MPW Butuan City 2025, in condemning any and all forms of harassment, assault, and exploitation,” the statement reads.

“We commend Mr. Ziff for his courage in speaking out and express our gratitude for his acknowledgment of the support extended to him by the organization during his pageant journey.

“Our commitment remains steadfast in upholding the integrity of the pageant community and in ensuring a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all delegates.”

As of this writing, the accused could not be contacted for comment.
