GAZA Strip – Israeli airstrikes, allegedly authorized by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, killed at least 30 Palestinians in Gaza on Tuesday, plunging the region back into crisis and shattering hopes for a lasting ceasefire.

The airstrikes, which targeted residential areas and infrastructure, followed accusations that Hamas violated the truce, allegations the group vehemently denied.

The renewed violence comes less than three weeks after a fragile ceasefire offered a brief respite from the ongoing conflict, which has already claimed the lives of over 68,500 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Images from Nasser Hospital depict scenes of chaos as families search for loved ones amid the injured and the dead, highlighting the devastating human cost of the escalating hostilities.

While the Israeli military asserts the strikes were a targeted response to a Hamas attack on its troops near Rafah, details surrounding the alleged incident remain contested.

Defense Minister Israel Katz characterized the alleged attack as “a crossing of a red line,” vowing a decisive response.

The collapse of the ceasefire raises serious concerns about a full-scale war escalation and further deterioration of the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

International observers are calling for immediate de-escalation and a renewed commitment to protecting civilian lives.

The future of the peace process and the well-being of Gaza’s two million residents hang precariously by a thread.
