MANILA, Philippines – Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando, a devout Christian and widely respected figure among his constituents, has vehemently denied allegations that his security convoy was involved in a road rage incident on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) involving a son of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. 

The accusations, which surfaced online, claim that the governor’s convoy blocked and harassed the presidential son’s vehicle, with reports suggesting that a rifle was brandished.

Sources familiar with the matter have refuted the claims, stating that no such incident occurred involving the governor’s security detail. 

The allegations center around an event purportedly taking place on Saturday night, February 21, after 7 p.m., where the presidential son’s vehicle allegedly overtook the governor’s convoy.

“The report circulating online is gravely malicious,” Governor Fernando stated in a text message, dismissing the accusations as baseless. 

He emphasized his unwavering respect for the rule of law and his commitment to ensuring that all his personnel adhere to the highest standards of conduct.

According to multiple sources within the provincial government, Governor Fernando has consistently maintained a zero-tolerance policy for abuse of power by his staff and security personnel. 

He has reportedly expressed his willingness to subject any member of his team to due process of law should any credible allegations of misconduct arise.

One provincial government employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, dismissed the claim that a rifle was drawn during the alleged confrontation as completely unfounded. 

“It’s not because the incident happened along NLEX in the area of Bulacan that they can just easily accuse our good Governor,” the employee stated, suggesting a possible attempt to tarnish Governor Fernando’s reputation.

Governor Fernando, a former actor who transitioned into politics, has cultivated a strong reputation for his integrity and dedication to public service. 

He is known for his deep faith and is widely admired by his constituents for his commitment to good governance. 

His supporters believe that these allegations are politically motivated, aimed at undermining his standing within the province.
