Cebu Pacific Elevates Education: Inspiring Change in Last Mile Schools

MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has launched a powerful initiative, mobilizing its entire network for the nationwide kickoff of Brigada Eskwela 2026.

This comprehensive drive underscores CEB’s unwavering commitment to education and community empowerment, reaching the nation’s most remote and underserved learning environments.

A formidable force of volunteers from across the CEB group, including airline operations (5J), ground handling provider 1Aviation, and aircraft maintenance firm Aviation Partnership (Philippines) Corporation (Aplus), converged to prepare public schools for the upcoming academic year.

This year’s campaign saw Cebu Pacific adopt three critical “Last Mile Schools” from the Department of Education’s (DepEd) priority roster: Balakilong Integrated School in Batangas, Cadulawan Elementary School in Cebu, and Cogon Elementary School in Davao del Norte.

These schools, strategically chosen for their location in isolated and underserved communities, will receive vital aid and support, ensuring that students in need are reached effectively.

Beyond the invaluable volunteer efforts, Cebu Pacific provided essential classroom cleaning and painting materials, state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) educational packages, and a substantial monetary donation fueled by the generous contributions of CEB employees.

Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer, stated, “The true measure of an airline transcends the number of passengers it carries; it is defined by the lives it helps propel forward. Through Brigada Eskwela, our dedicated people united to support schools in some of the country’s most underserved communities. We believe every child deserves a safe, inspiring space to learn, dream, and forge a brighter future. At Cebu Pacific, we are proud to connect Filipinos not only through the freedom of travel but also through impactful acts of service that generate lasting positive change, extending far beyond our flights.”

This transformative initiative is an integral component of “Juan Community,” a broader Gokongwei Group program spearheaded by the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF), dedicated to championing education programs nationwide.

Cebu Pacific is committed to the sustained support of these three adopted schools while exploring opportunities to expand this vital program to additional Last Mile Schools across the Philippines, ensuring a wider reach and deeper impact.

Operating across 35 domestic and 26 international destinations spanning Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific consistently connects Filipinos through essential air travel while uplifting communities by investing in the next generation.
