Ryanair Flight Horror: Passengers Collapse, Vomit in Extreme Heat

BRISBANE, Australia – A Ryanair flight from Malta to Birmingham descended into chaos as passengers reportedly suffered extreme heat-related illnesses, with some collapsing and vomiting after being trapped in an un-air-conditioned aircraft on the tarmac during a scorching heatwave. The incident, involving flight FR7268, has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about passenger welfare.

Scheduled for a 5:40 AM departure on August 10, the aircraft remained stationary on the tarmac for over an hour as temperatures in Malta soared to an anticipated 35 degrees Celsius. Passengers described conditions as “extreme heat” upon boarding, immediately noticing that the air conditioning was non-functional.

Eyewitness accounts paint a harrowing picture. Passenger Eva Gregory recounted experiencing a panic attack amidst the escalating discomfort. She observed fellow travelers shedding clothing in an attempt to cope with the oppressive heat. “Two people passed out,” Gregory stated, “and I’m not sure how many were throwing up.” She also noted that elderly passengers appeared “extremely distressed,” yet no water was reportedly offered.

Gregory further detailed a pre-boarding ordeal, claiming passengers were confined to un-air-conditioned shuttle buses for an hour before even reaching the sweltering aircraft.

Despite the escalating crisis, cabin crew, who reportedly advocated against boarding until the air conditioning was resolved, were overruled by other ground staff. Gregory praised the flight crew for their efforts to manage passenger distress, emphasizing that they were left to deal with the fallout of decisions not their own.

The air conditioning system reportedly only began functioning after the plane had taken off. Gregory shared her distressing experience on TikTok, labeling the airline’s conduct as “disgusting” and highlighting the lack of complimentary water for passengers enduring such conditions.

A Ryanair spokesperson acknowledged a delay, attributing it to a “minor technical issue” and a subsequent passenger illness. They stated, “Following an inspection of the aircraft by engineers, the aircraft was cleared to operate, and this flight departed Malta at 19:00 local time.” This statement, however, omits any direct mention of the air conditioning failure or the alleged conditions prior to departure.

The incident underscores critical questions regarding airline protocols during extreme weather, passenger safety standards, and the accountability of ground operations when crew concerns are overridden. Investigations into the full circumstances of flight FR7268 are anticipated as passengers demand answers and assurance against future recurrences.
