MANILA, Philippines – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) experienced a significant surge in passenger traffic during the nine-day Undas period (October 27 – November 4, 2026), serving an impressive 1.29 million travelers. This marks a notable 4.4% increase from the previous year, surpassing initial forecasts.

New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) reported a total of 1,291,885 passengers, up from 1,237,475 in 2025, exceeding their conservative projection by 3.4%. International passenger volume climbed 3.94% to 649,691, while domestic traffic saw a stronger 4.86% rise to 642,194.

The peak day, October 30, recorded a remarkable 153,901 passengers, far exceeding daily projections and highlighting intense travel demand.

NNIC’s proactive measures were critical to this success. Comprehensive operational strategies included enhanced coordination with airlines, ground handlers, and government agencies. A 24-hour Command Center at Terminal 2 ensured seamless operations and rapid incident response.

Support infrastructure was significantly bolstered with additional screening personnel, expanded immigration counters, heightened security patrols, and dedicated public assistance desks across Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Efficient traffic management and inter-terminal shuttle services further streamlined passenger flow.

This achievement underscores NNIC’s commitment to continuous improvement in passenger processing, terminal accessibility, and overall airport facilities as NAIA adeptly manages escalating travel demands.
