Cebu Pacific Cracks Down on Flight Booking Fraud: Three Intercepted at Caticlan Airport

BORACAY, PHILIPPINES – Cebu Pacific is actively combating flight booking fraud, leading to the interception of three individuals at Caticlan Airport on Thursday. The individuals are under investigation for allegedly utilizing fraudulent credit cards to purchase Cebu Pacific flights and for the unauthorized resale of travel funds through social media platforms.

The passengers, who had flown from Davao to Boracay, were apprehended as they prepared to return to Davao. Cebu Pacific is cooperating fully with the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the ongoing investigation.

“Cebu Pacific strongly reminds all passengers to book their flights only through CEB’s official website, mobile app, or accredited travel partners to ensure access to the airline’s guaranteed lowest fares and legitimate booking services,” the airline stated.

The airline is urging passengers to exercise caution and avoid transacting with unauthorized sellers, warning that such transactions can lead to invalid or incomplete bookings, unexpected additional charges, and disrupted travel itineraries.

Only Cebu Pacific’s official channels and affiliated travel agencies are authorized to sell legitimate Cebu Pacific flights. Passengers who book through unofficial channels risk:

• Receiving incomplete booking information due to incorrect fares.
• Inability to complete online check-in.
• Restrictions on rebooking or obtaining refunds.
• Inability to add baggage allowance or meals.
