MANILA, Philippines – Former Miss International Melanie Marquez has escalated her battle with husband Adam “Randy” Lawyer, formally requesting the Bureau of Immigration to revoke his visa and blacklist him from the Philippines. The move follows Marquez’s explosive allegations of years of physical, emotional, and financial abuse, including a claim of being forcibly committed to a mental health facility—accusations that Lawyer’s legal team vehemently denies.

The allegations surfaced during a recent interview on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” on GMA 7, where Marquez detailed a disturbing pattern of behavior she claims began shortly after their marriage in 2000. “I’ve been very patient… I really wanted this marriage to last,” Marquez stated, adding, “But along the way, I’m verbally abused; he insults me emotionally, financially, and mentally because he’s good with words, and I was in love.”

The formal request, filed on November 11, 2025, outlines several specific incidents, painting a picture of a deteriorating relationship marred by alleged violence and manipulation.

Allegations of Physical Assault and Threats

Marquez alleges that in March 2022, Lawyer struck her on the right ear while she was sleeping. “I was sleeping next to him. I thought I dreamt someone punched me. But then, I woke up and saw him looking at me, and he punched me. I was barely awake,” she recounted. Marquez reported the incident to the police, sought a medico-legal examination revealing alleged ear damage, and obtained a temporary protection order, resulting in Lawyer’s removal from their home.

Prior to this incident, Marquez claims Lawyer threatened her with a firearm. “Actually, before that, he pointed a gun at me. He wanted me to solve his problem,” she stated. “He said to me, ‘You know you should do something for me. Solve the problem in Davao.’ He doesn’t know what to do, and I’m coming back here, so he suddenly said that. I don’t know why he pointed it at me, but luckily, I’m not the type to panic.”

Another alleged physical altercation occurred in October 2025, stemming from a dispute over Marquez’s personal assistant being falsely listed as an executive secretary in their Utah-based company. Marquez claims that during a car ride, Lawyer struck her on the chest after she expressed her desire to use the vehicle alone to de-escalate the situation. “I was already fed up. I drove him to his doctors. I said, ‘Randy, I’d like to use the car just to drive around just to cool down.’ He said, ‘OK.’ So after dropping him off, he changed his mind. I was still wearing my seatbelt; he wasn’t. He said, ‘No, you are not gonna use the car.’ Then he hit me in the chest and pinched me.” Marquez sought medical attention following this incident, claiming an MRI revealed a fractured rib. She has since left their home and has had no contact with Lawyer.

Claim of Involuntary Confinement

Perhaps the most shocking allegation is Marquez’s claim of being “kidnapped against her will” and forcibly committed to a mental health facility. She alleges that following the filing of charges against Lawyer for the alleged March 2022 assault, she was involuntarily confined for ten days, followed by an eight-month stay in a rehabilitation center.

“I was abducted. I was kidnapped against my will. I was judged. Nobody talked to me. I cannot talk to anyone. My phone got hacked, and it’s on my birthday. My birthday itself when I was abducted because I filed a case against Randy for punching me,” Marquez stated. She claims she was falsely portrayed as a danger to herself and her children, leading to her involuntary confinement and alleged forced injections of medication. Marquez maintains she does not use drugs, citing a negative drug test result.

Lawyer’s Legal Team Denies Allegations

Lawyer’s legal representatives have vehemently denied all allegations. “Ms. Melanie has always been engaged in ostentatiously accusing Mr. Lawyer of abuse, but all of which were found to be baseless or unfounded by the proper forum,” stated Atty. Jecko G. Bello in a statement released on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.” “This is nothing but an act of harassment suffered by our client; an act of defamation on the part of Ms. Melanie.” The lawyers further claim that the previous case filed by Marquez regarding the alleged assault was dismissed by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Makati and never proceeded to court.

Bureau of Immigration Review Pending

The Bureau of Immigration has yet to comment on Marquez’s request. The case raises serious questions about domestic abuse, immigration law, and the potential for the misuse of mental health facilities.

The public is closely watching the developments as the Bureau of Immigration reviews Marquez’s request and investigates the allegations against Lawyer. The investigation will likely be complex, requiring a thorough examination of evidence and testimonies from both sides.
