WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump has escalated his rhetoric toward Iran, directly calling for a change in leadership and specifically targeting Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Trump accuses Khamenei of presiding over a “sick” regime responsible for the “complete destruction” of the nation, comments that come amid reports of widespread violence against Iranian protesters and a burgeoning war of words between the two leaders.

The escalating tensions were ignited after Khamenei, via the social media platform X, reportedly issued derogatory remarks directed at Trump, prompting a forceful and public response.

“It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran,” Trump declared, condemning Khamenei’s alleged role in the violent suppression of dissent.

Khamenei, in turn, accused Trump of being a “criminal” responsible for the deaths of thousands of protesters in Tehran, alleging that the U.S. president incited unrest and violence with the aim of destabilizing Iran.

“We consider the U.S. president a criminal for the casualties, damages, and the slander he inflicted on the Iranian nation,” Khamenei stated.

Trump dismissed Khamenei’s accusations as the desperate pronouncements of a failed leader overseeing a country plagued by mismanagement and violence.

“The man is a sick man who should run his country properly and stop killing people,” Trump said.

“His country is the worst place to live anywhere in the world because of poor leadership.”

The verbal sparring continued throughout the day, with Khamenei reiterating accusations against the U.S. and Israel, blaming them for the deaths of numerous individuals, including children.

Khamenei warned that “the U.S. must be held accountable” and emphasized that international actors would not escape justice for their alleged roles in the turmoil.

This exchange unfolds against a backdrop of ongoing unrest in Iran and disturbing allegations of state-sponsored violence against protesters.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, the daughter of a high-ranking Iranian commander has reportedly provided a harrowing testimony, recounting her father’s orders to kill innocent civilians.

While these claims remain unverified, they paint a potentially damning picture of the regime’s alleged brutal tactics and underscore the severity of human rights concerns within the country.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that Trump had threatened military action against Iran if the regime continued its violent crackdown on protests.

However, sources suggest he later reconsidered this stance after the Iranian government signaled a potential cessation of plans for mass executions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and various Arab nations urged Trump to exercise caution, fearing further destabilization in the region.
