MANILA, Philippines – Ms. Carmina Reyes-Romero, Director for Corporate Communications at Cebu Pacific, has been recognized with the prestigious Asia’s Modern Hero Award. This accolade celebrates her exemplary leadership and the impactful communication strategies under her guidance, reflecting Cebu Pacific’s unwavering commitment to connectivity and affordable air travel.

The award, presented on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Okada Hotel Manila, was lauded for its distinguished attendees, including Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Sergio Ortiz Luis Jr. and GSIS President Wick Veloso (who notably grew the fund’s total assets to P2 trillion in Q1). It underscores Ms. Reyes-Romero’s significant contributions to the aviation industry and public discourse.

In her acceptance speech, Ms. Reyes-Romero emphasized that the honor transcends individual achievement, stating, “In aviation, no award belongs to one person alone. This award represents a collective body of work produced by the Cebu Pacific Air team.” She acknowledged the pivotal guidance of Chief Marketing Officer Candice Alabanza Iyog, President Xander Lao, and CEO Mike Szucs, whose leadership shaped her work.
