MANILA, Philippines – The country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL), through its philanthropic arm, Philippine Airlines Foundation Inc. (PALFI), has forged a partnership with the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PHILSCA) to elevate training standards and provide crucial resources to the next generation of Filipino aviation professionals.

The initial phase of the partnership will see PAL donating vital aviation mechanical tools to PHILSCA’s Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering students.

This contribution aims to enhance the practical training experience and equip students with the necessary skills to excel in the field of aircraft maintenance.

The memorandum of agreement was signed at the Lucio K. Tan Jr. Center in Pasay City, with key officials from both organizations attending the event.

“PAL’s partnership with PHILSCA underscores our shared commitment to investing in quality education,” said PAL Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Carlos Luis Fernandez.

“By empowering these future aviation professionals, we are helping to shape the future of the entire industry,” Fernandez stressed.

PHILSCA president Prof. Marwin M. Dela Cruz thanked PAL for its support, emphasizing its positive impact on the college’s training capabilities.

“This much-needed support will boost PHILSCA’s technical training standards in the fields of aeronautics, electronics, and supply chain management,” Dela Cruz said.

PAL’s donated tools will include essential equipment such as aircraft wire twister plier sets, control cable tensiometers, flare compressors, and drill guns.

In addition to the tools, PALFI, in collaboration with other PAL business units, will donate surplus materials for use as training aids.

The partnership will also facilitate advanced training opportunities for PHILSCA faculty members through the PAL Aviation Training Center and the PAL Human Capital Department to ensure that instructors are equipped with the latest industry knowledge and best practices.

The partnership represents a significant investment in the future of the Philippine aviation industry for a steady stream of highly skilled and well-trained professionals ready to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving sector.
