TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian intelligence has detained 26 individuals suspected of collaborating with Israeli operatives, according to the state-affiliated Fars news agency.

The operation came on the heels of a ceasefire, further fueling conflict between Iran and Israel.

Citing the Intelligence Organization of the Hazrat Vali Asr Corps, Fars described the detainees as “operatives and misled participants” implicated in recent hostilities, which Iran attributed to provocations by the “Zionist regime.”

Several of those arrested had confessed to engaging in anti-security activities, inciting public unrest, and conducting acts of sabotage, the report suggested.

The arrests came amid rhetoric from Israeli officials on covert operations carried out within Iranian territory.

Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir disclosed that commandos had conducted clandestine missions during the 12-day conflict, saying they “gained comprehensive control over Iranian airspace and operated freely in various locations of our choosing.”

He attributed the “success” of the mission to the “effective coordination and tactical deception” by Israeli forces, with Israeli intelligence acknowledging support from the US.

The revelations have led to Iran’s latest wave of arrests and the execution of three individuals accused of espionage for Israel.

Iran frequently shows the detention and execution of individuals suspected of having ties with foreign intelligence, particularly those linked to Israel.

While both Iran and Israel have proclaimed victories since the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday, the recent arrests indicate that the conflict between the two nations is far from over.
