MANILA, Philippines – Cebu Pacific, one of the country’s leading airlines, has renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registry in a move to adhere to the highest international aviation safety standards.

The IOSA registry renewal marks a significant milestone in the airline’s operations as it is the first under the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) more stringent Risk-Based IOSA, which provides a comprehensive and targeted assessment of airline safety protocols.

The airline initially secured its IOSA registration in 2018 and has consistently met the rigorous requirements of the audit since then.

“This IOSA renewal reflects the strength of our internal safety processes and the deeply ingrained culture of excellence that permeates our operations,” CEB Chief Operations Officer Javier Massot said.

“Safety remains at the very core of everything we do, and we are immensely proud to meet these global benchmarks as we continue to expand our network and connect more Filipinos to the world,” Massot added.

Cebu Pacific’s dedication to safety has also garnered international recognition.

In June, AirlineRatings.com recognized the airline as one of the world’s Safest Low-Cost Carriers, citing its impressive safety record, consistently low incident rate, and significant investments in a modern, fuel-efficient fleet.

The IOSA renewal also coincides with Cebu Pacific’s ongoing fleet modernization efforts.

In 2024, the airline signed a landmark purchase agreement with Airbus for up to 152 A320neo aircraft – the largest such order in Philippine aviation history.

The move facilitated CEB’s transition to an all-NEO fleet, prioritizing fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.

New aircraft would not only enhance operational efficiency but also contribute to a greener travel experience for passengers, Massot declared.

Driven by surging travel demand, the Gokongwei-backed carrier is aggressively expanding its network.

In the past year alone, the airline launched 28 new routes, comprising 19 domestic and nine international destinations.

The expansion continues into 2025 with the addition of new international routes connecting Cebu to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Iloilo to Bangkok, Thailand, and Manila to Sapporo, Japan.

These new routes cater to both business and leisure travelers, further connecting the Philippines to key destinations across Asia.

With its ambitious growth strategy, Cebu Pacific aims to transport 30 million passengers by the end of 2025.

This goal is fueled by strategic network expansion, ongoing hub development, and a commitment to increasing seat capacity across its routes, it said.

The airline is focused on enhancing the overall travel experience, offering affordable fares and convenient flight schedules.

Currently, Cebu Pacific operates the widest network in the Philippines, connecting passengers to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Its commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction has positioned it for continued success in the aviation market.
